Packaging Graphic Designer

Northern Lights Enterprises, Inc., a Zippo Company, and leading designer of luxury candles and artisan made accessories, is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time hourly opportunity as a Packaging Graphic Designer – responsible for assisting in the creation of innovative and artistic labeling and packaging for all Northern Lights products and private labeling.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assist in creating and maintaining project grids and presentations

· Design original and customer-appropriate artwork for various forms of packaging using multi-media methods within packaging requirements and brand standards

· Keep Monday.com boards up to date on project developments

· Mockup packaging renderings in Illustrator

· Produce print ready files for final production including original die-lines

· Create physical prototype mockups of packaging designs

· Evaluate packaging effectiveness based on diversity of retail markets and channels: mass, specialty, grocery, E-commerce

· Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field with 1-5 years’ experience – Working knowledge of photography basics

· Competency in Adobe CC Suite & MS Office for Mac

· Professional verbal and written communication skills including grammar and proofreading

· Creative team player interested in continuously learning through individual and group critique

· Problem solver mindset willing to work through complex 3D and 2D creative challenges

· Extremely detail oriented, highly efficient and organized, willing to meet strict deadlines

· Market awareness and understanding of industry trends

· Understanding of printing language and processes

· MUST have a strong portfolio demonstrating knowledge of composition, layout, typography, packaging production and structure
